Update on the Performing Arts and Sports Centre Project
The Council is pleased to share an important update on the Performing Arts and Sports Centre (PASC) project, a key priority for MLC School. In mid-May, the project received official approval from the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) – a significant milestone that reflects the strength of our vision and planning to date.
The vision for this facility is bold and ambitious, and we are excited by the possibilities it will unlock for our students and community.
To ensure the PASC is delivered in a way that best serves the long-term needs of the School, the Council has made the decision to pause the project temporarily. This pause allows us to align the PASC with the outcomes of our comprehensive Masterplanning process, which has been running in parallel and is in its final stages. It also provides an opportunity to incorporate evolving developments in the surrounding area, including the Burwood North Master Plan (which is currently being finalised) and associated Metro infrastructure.
MLC School’s Masterplanning involves an holistic review of our campus infrastructure and future development opportunities. It ensures that our spaces and grounds support learning, wellbeing, and community engagement – now and into the future.
By taking this strategic pause, we can ensure the PASC is not only a state-of-the-art facility but also a cornerstone of a broader, integrated vision for MLC School. This approach reflects our commitment to thoughtful, future-focused planning and positions the School to take full advantage of emerging opportunities.
We look forward to sharing further updates as the Masterplanning process progresses and thank our community for their continued support and enthusiasm.
