Parent-Teacher Interviews and Year 11 and Year 12 Information Nights

On Wednesday night, Year 11 and Year 12 students and their parents attended an information evening hosted by our Heads of Year 11 and Year 12, Sharon Connolly and Angela Renwick, supported by Head of Students – Year 10 to Year 12, Fiona Pow.

Principal Lisa Moloney, Head of Learning and Teaching Melissa McMahon, Deputy Head of Senior School – Academic Elisa Scala, and IB Coordinator Priscilla Quintana delivered presentations. Year 12 students were also granted the opportunity to have one-on-one interviews with each of their subject teachers. The evening proved to be productive for reflection and future planning, emphasising the importance of partnership for ensuring success and student wellbeing.

Staffing Updates

Visual Arts

Unfortunately, Head of Department Sally Marks has been away from school due to illness. Visual Arts teachers Lucy Pero and Jake Morrissey have been assisting the Year 12 classes, and we are very grateful for their assistance thus far along with the wider Visual Arts and TAS teams. We have employed a casual Visual Arts teacher, Anita Modok, who is known to the School, to support the students and to teach some classes. Other classes may be supported by members of the Visual Arts department. This is a short-term arrangement until we welcome Sally back to school in a full-time capacity.

English

David O’Donohue has been recovering from a back injury. We are very grateful that Samantha Cook has been working with his classes, supported by Head of Department Tim Curry. We are pleased that David will be increasing his time back at school over the next few weeks as he recovers.

Study Hub

The Study Hub has had a very successful start, providing a quiet space on Level 3 where Year 11 and Year 12 students may study in a quiet space and receive assistance from teachers until 6pm. This week, the teacher roster is as follows:

After School Supervision and Student Safety – A Reminder

Students should be in the Library until 5pm, Study Hub (Level 3) and Study Hub+ (Level 1) until 6pm, or participating in co-curricular activities. If students are waiting for parents to pick them up after this time, they should be in the Aquatic Centre reception area.
