From the Acting Head of Senior School

There is always much happening at MLC School. This week as our Year 12 students continued with their HSC and IB examinations, our new team of captains led a wonderful and diverse school assembly. We were presented with a signed Matildas Jersey, donated by Scott Carpenter, and a signed GWS Giants jersey, donated by Joanne Sharpe. A huge thank you to Scott and Joanne for generous donations! These jerseys will be raffled to raise funds for the Sony Camp at the end of this year. We also heard from students who recently participated involved in overseas experiences such as the Round Square Conference in Colombia and Culture College in Arnhem land. It was wonderful to see our students thriving in these contexts.

We had many Year 11 parents join us for the HSC/ IB information webinars on Wednesday evening and we wish our Year 11 cohort a positive and rewarding experience on their retreat next week in Katoomba, a valuable component of their transition into Year 12. We also had the opportunity to celebrate and recognise our incoming SRC leaders and various other folio captains for 2025, including Sport, Music, Visual Arts and Technology. Becoming a captain is not merely a title; it is a testament to one’s character, dedication, and leadership abilities. In accepting these roles, our captains have embraced the responsibility of upholding our values, promoting respect, unity, and striving for excellence in everything they do. We look forward to their school service, contributions and positive impact. Congratulations to all.
