Author Tristan Bancks Visits MLC School

MLC School had the privilege of hosting Tristan Bancks, author of Two Wolves, The Fall, and Cop and Robber, among others. Year 6 students, who have been enjoying his stories as part of our modelled reading program, were thrilled to hear him speak about his books and his journey as a writer.

Maya Haysom-McDowell (6F) had this to say:

‘I speak on behalf of all Year 6 when I say that having Tristan Bancks visit was very exciting. We got to hear about how he wrote of all his books. He confessed that it actually took him quite a long time to finish them, up to ten years. He helped us to understand that he needed the right setting to create his works, using playlists of music to help capture the mood of the scene. He also explained that he got his ideas from holidays, such as the wooden cabin in his book, Two Wolves. He composes book trailers for every novel he makes. Overall, this experience was interesting and educational.’
