Australian Mathematics Challenge for Young Australians

Australian Mathematics Challenge for Young Australians

Entries are now open for the 2025 Maths Challenge for Young Australians. This is a problem-solving contest managed by the Australian Maths Trust and is undertaken by students over four weeks. Students may enter in the Junior (Year 7 and Year 8) or Intermediate (Year 9 and Year 10) division.

The problems are challenging and require time and persistence but are based on concepts that should be known at the current year level. Students who excel in the Challenge may be invited to take part in the Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad. The AMOC uses this Olympiad to identify and develop high calibre mathematicians.

The cost of the Challenge Stage is $24.50. Should you wish for your daughter to participate, please complete this online form before Thursday 6 March for inclusion on your next school fee account.
