MLC02: ‘The MLC02 basketball team had a strong weekend with an impressive 23–18 victory over Kambala, marking a well-deserved reward for our hard work and growth throughout the term. Since the opening game, we showed clear and consistent improvement—developing greater confidence and stronger communication. In this game, we were able to work cohesively and run structured set plays, reflecting the effort put into training and the commitment of every player. A huge thank you to our coach, Michael, as well for his ongoing support, encouragement, and guidance this season (and for buying us donuts for our win!).’

Football
MLC02 Football: ‘I love being on this team, I love the memories I’m making, our coach Steve (Big Red) has coached me since year 5 and he makes the experience so much better. We are really starting to play well together as a team and everyone is really supportive of each other. It’s a great team to be a part of! Big Red gives us great encouragement at training and during games and even when we lost last weekend against Monte, he was sure to tell us that we were the only team to score a goal off them. My favourite game was the one at Abbotsleigh where we tied 1-1, the team spirit was really high and everyone had a great time.’

Hockey
MLC01: ‘This past weekend the MLC01 hockey team played extremely well, showcasing the skills we have worked hard to develop all term. This match was our semi-finals game, in which we played the toughest team in the division, SCHOLS. Everyone worked well, keeping calm and holding against some talented players on the opposition. The game was tough, with a loss that was expected but still disappointing. Despite this, we had many great attempts at goal, with the ball possession remaining equal for most of the game. This weekend we will play our final game for third place in the division.’
– Evelyn Kerr (Year 11)
MLC02: ‘The game was scheduled at 08:00 Am which was two hours earlier than usual and it was positively freezing. Although we had played this Santa Sabina team before and absolutely crushed them, they had still managed to make it to the semifinals like us, so we knew somehow, they got good in that timespan and to not underestimate them. For the first half they started with the ball only to be tackled immediately which left them slightly baffled therefore giving us the opportunity to get our first two goals in and leaving them with only one which narrowly snuck past our iron defence. The second half was a little more tough as we had it on their half the most but couldn’t keep it in the D long enough for us to take a shot and they stepped up their defence game a lot , even with these new adjustments a third goal was achieved and the game ended on multiple short corners that were unsuccessful but it didn’t matter because MLC had won!’
– Margot Bell (Year 8)
MLC03: ‘Despite a tough 6–1 loss on Saturday, the team showed great spirit and determination throughout the game! Our communication on the field was improved. And we had some great runs up the field. Everyone gave it their all, and even though the score didn’t reflect it, we played really well as a team and kept fighting until the end. And we’re looking forward to coming back stronger this week!’
