A Message for MLC School Aquatic Centre Customers
After consultation with MLC School and listening to feedback we have received from customers, we are excited to inform you that we will be renovating our existing changerooms and bathrooms. We are hoping this will make significant improvement to our facilities by upgrading the existing toilets, showers and changing space in both the male, female, and family/disabled bathrooms to provide a better experience for all. During this time, however, we require your support and cooperation to assist with completing this project within a specific timeframe.
During the renovation process, the changeroom and surrounding area will be closed and inaccessible for all. The pool deck will still be accessible by the main stairwell, however the space behind will be out of action for the entirety of the project. In the interim, we will provide temporary bathroom facilities on the outside deck at the squad end of the pool. Please note that these facilities will only include portable toilets with no changing areas. The pool deck showers will remain in operation for rinse off only, however these will be the only option available at this time. Please note: all safety measures have been put into place to ensure classes can still operate as normal.
We kindly ask for your cooperation in the following ways:
- Arrive ready for swimming: If possible, bring your children dressed in their swimwear to minimise the need for changing at the facility. If your child comes directly from school, we ask to get changed at school.
- Rinse, wrap and go: Use the showers on the pool deck for a quick rinse, and plan for a proper shower at home. We have targeted the summer months to undertake this project to assist with students going home whilst the weather is warmer.
- Use restrooms at home: With only minimal portable toilets available, we encourage families to use restrooms before arriving to reduce wait times and congestion.
- Phone calls and Customer service: With the renovations located right below the main office, there will be periods of time during construction that phone calls will be unavailable due to noise. Emails and voicemails will still be an option; however, we will be unable to answer all calls during the noisy periods.
For all Gymnastics customers, there will be communication sent with further instructions next week specifically related to gymnastics classes and activities.
We understand that the temporary lack of changerooms and restrooms may cause inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this period. The renovations are set to begin on Monday 4 November 2024 and are expected to be completed by Friday 24 January 2025.
