Year 7
It has been a busy week for Year 7, celebrating Harmony Week as a school and starting NAPLAN. Our Monday Luminary session centred on Harmony Week, offering Year 7 an opportunity to explore and celebrate the diversity within our MLC School community. Each student decorated a paper figure representing their culture, prompting conversations about identity and heritage. As part of this session, Luminaries also reviewed the Weekly News together, taking note of key events. This routine continues to help Year 7 build confidence in planning, organising and preparing for the week.
Tuesday’s Chapel service was also focused on Harmony Week, and several Year 7 students volunteered to lead the service as readers. Thank you to Emily Moore, Ella Woolrych, Louise Morgant, Mariella Tsolis, Maya Tong-Ho, Jeselle Jiao and Henriette Pitman for their courage and leadership.
The highlight of the week, according to Year 7, was the session with their Year 11 Big Sisters, click here for the story and more photos. On Thursday, Year 11 led a range of activities with their Year 7 Little Sisters, designed to support connection and build a sense of belonging at MLC School. Walking past each session and listening to the conversations and laughter emanating from each room, it is clear that Year 7 genuinely value the support provided by their Big Sisters and the sense of community that these partnerships build.
Looking Ahead
Week 8 (Monday 16 March 2026) will bring further opportunities for community connection, starting with the Year 7 Study Skills Evening on Monday. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and for the encouragement you provide at home – your support makes a meaningful difference in how confidently Year 7 approach their learning and experience at school.
