Year 8
Year 8 have had a positive week, engaging well with the ACER Social Emotional Wellbeing Survey and continuing strong discussions around wellbeing in Luminary time. Students also embraced Harmony Week, participating enthusiastically in Mufti Day by wearing orange or cultural dress and contributing to a gold coin donation for charity. Year 8 also had Big Sister Little Sister which is a huge highlight. This time it was Year 8 students turn to run an activity for their Big Sister and the various Luminary groups engaged in cookie decorating, Harmony Day colouring and fun outdoor games.
Looking ahead to Week 8 (Monday 16 March 2026), our selected students will take part in the Strong Together service program with Inner West Neighbour Aid for their first session with some Senior Citizens, and I know they are very excited. We are looking forward to hearing how the first sessions go. Next week also sees a number of assessments, and it’s been encouraging to see the Year 8 students preparing well and engaging with these tasks.
Have a lovely weekend, and please reach out to the Luminary or myself if you have any concerns.
