Excitement for Year 2 Excursion

Excitement for Year 2 Excursion

On Wednesday 11 March, Year 2 went on an excursion to the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney and the Art Gallery of NSW. We travelled by bus and were very excited for the adventure.

At the gardens, we participated in the Connection and Country program. We discovered the fascinating world of local native plants in the gardens. We learnt how Aboriginal people use plants for food, medicine, tools, and weapons. Our guides showed us many plants and explained how they were important to First Nation people long ago and still today.

After this, we walked to the Art Gallery of New South Wales. We explored the Mike Hewson exhibition called The Keys Under the Mat.’ We had a great time interacting with the interesting playground.

The excursion provided valuable hands on learning experiences that supports our learning in the classroom across various key learning areas.
