Year 12
Congratulations to all of Year 12 on a wonderfully positive first full week of the year.
This week the cohort participated in a mix of reflective, wellbeing focused, and positive relationship building activities. On Monday, Year 12 gathered in the Chapel to hear from Joanna Graffen (Head of Senior School) about some key expectations around their behaviour when driving to and from school and moving through the community. Joanna also confirmed – to an excited, high-energy crowd response – the Swimming Carnival date (which will provide adequate time for their preparation of cheers and the important, House Synchro Competition performances).
In their Luminary session, students reflected on their academic experiences from Year 11, looked ahead to the coming term through goal setting. Tuesday’s Academic Care session centred on identifying the support networks that will help them thrive in Term 1, with students working in small groups to create collaborative wellbeing and action plans. Mid week, the cohort joined Year 11 for a combined Chapel service in Potts Hall. On Thursday, students returned to their Luminary rooms to design an activity for Big Sister, Little Sister in Week 3, starting Monday 9 February – which they are all looking forward to!
This week, Year 12 had their portraits and cohort photo taken for the final time as MLC School students. I want to commend the cohort on the high standard of uniform, punctuality and positive vibes (singing!) while we waited for the wind to die down several times!
Permission to Drive: If your daughter now has her provisional licence, please ensure the “Permission for a Student to Drive to and From School” form is completed (found on Omnia). Once completed, students should submit the form to Fiona Pow (Head of Students, Year 10 to Year 12).
