Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is Going Paper-Light
Traditionally, DofE information packs and forms were printed, handed out, taken home (sometimes), misplaced (often), or ended up at the bottom of a school bag. Even when completed, forms did not always make it back to the Studies Office in a timely fashion — often remaining in school bags or lockers for weeks. We know from experience that many packs never made it back at all, not through a lack of interest, but simply because paper gets lost, damaged, or thrown away.
To make the process simpler, clearer, and more environmentally friendly, students (and parents) will now access the DofE starter pack online.

How it works
A flyer available from the Studies Office contains QR codes that link directly to the full DofE information pack. This includes:

A step-by-step guide to getting started

All required forms

Clear instructions for each stage of the process

A dedicated Parent Information page

Everything students need to begin their DofE journey
Students can scan the QR code using their phone or device and access everything in one place. If a student decides they would like to undertake DofE, they can either print the forms at home or download them and have them electronically signed by their Assessors. The key difference is that printing is now optional, not automatic.
Submitting forms made simple
Once forms are completed, they are uploaded online using QR codes included within the step-by-step guide. This removes the need to hand in paperwork physically and helps ensure forms are received quickly and securely.
