Year 10

Year 10

It has been a wonderful week getting to know the Year 10 students, and I’ve really appreciated the warm welcome they have given me. It has been lovely to have so many students approach me to introduce themselves and say hi. I am so excited to be here at MLC School and to be working with your daughters.

This week in Luminary, our focus has been on goal setting. In the first session, Year 10 were encouraged to brainstorm and write down goals they have for the year ahead. Next week, we will continue this process by refining their goals and developing them into clear, actionable plans with time frames.

We all know that goal setting can be a tricky thing to do not only for students, but it is a worthwhile exercise. Writing down goals provides direction and an end goal, which helps foster motivation and a sense of achievement. I encourage parents to have a discussion with your daughter about their goals and the importance of setting them. It is such an important skill that will serve them well, not just now, but in the future.

This week several Year 10 students volunteered as tour guides. They were excellent ambassadors for themselves, their year group, and the school. I have heard nothing but praise for the way they represented MLC School — well done, girls!

I’m really looking forward to working with the Year 10 girls throughout their senior years and helping them achieve their goals.
