Festival of Speech 2024 hosted by MLC School

Last Friday afternoon and all day Saturday, after months of preparation, over 250 students began arriving at MLC School for the start of this year’s IGSA Festival of Speech. There were 13 different events run over both Friday evening and Saturday with 27 girls’ schools participating.

Our own group of 30 students put in a lot of work practising and preparing for both team and individual events with their coaches and teachers.  Everyone represented MLC School with style and distinction, generously giving up their time to make sure our school was competing in every event. Many in the team were participating for the first time in events and took on the challenge courageously. They laid the foundations for great success next year. Our representatives were:

MLC School came 3rd in the Junior division, 4th in the Senior division and 4th overall in this year’s event. Thank you to the teachers and coaches, Monica Brian, Georgia Thorne, Taylor Buoro-Long, Jade di Girolamo, Sarah Pearson, Callum McCrow and Brendan Winters for all their dedicated work with each student.
