Year 9

Last Friday, Leawarra ran an entertaining and highly competitive Year group assembly, where representatives from each House could compete in musical chairs. I didn’t realise that so many Year 9 students were so competitive and would actually make for excellent football players! Well done to students of Year 9 Leawarra for facilitating a fun event for their peers. We look forward to Whitley House running their assembly on Friday 18 June 2021.

On Wednesday I was fortunate to attend the Stand Tall Event with the 10 Middle Years Leaders, 6000 students from around NSW and another 50,000 students joining online. Stand Tall brings a host of speakers together in one room to arm students with the skills of resilience, the strength to stand up to bullying, the keys to motivation, the power of perspective and the benefits of making good and wise decisions. The Middle Years Leaders found it inspiring and motivational and they were outstanding representatives for the School. Year 9, despite the weather, also had a great time on the Geography excursion on Thursday visiting Camperdown Pocket Farms and listening to guest speakers. It’s been a busy term and I know that Year 9 girls are very much looking forward to having one more week of school and assessments before the holidays.

As always, if there is anything you wish to discuss please contact me on 8741 3246 or email cwhite@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au.
