Their event space is accessible via a stair lift.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Tickets<\/strong><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>for the Event are $5 (or $40 for Event plus a copy of<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em>Elegy, Southwest<\/em>) and<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.betterreadevents.com\/events\/elegy-southwest-madeleine-watts-in-conversation-with-amy-lovat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">can be purchased here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Old Girl, Madeleine Watts (2007)<\/strong><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>is a writer of fiction, stories, and essays. Her debut novel,<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em>The Inland Sea<\/em>, was shortlisted for the 2021 Miles Franklin Literary Award and the UTS Glenda Adams Award for New Writing. Her writing has been published in Harper\u2019s Magazine, The Believer, HEAT, The White Review, Literary Hub, The Paris Review Daily, Los Angeles Review of Books, The Irish Times, Bookforum, and Meanjin among others. She is the winner of the 2015 Griffith Review Novella Competition. Madeleine grew up in Sydney, and sometimes Melbourne. After a decade living in New York, she is now based in Berlin.<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em>Elegy, Southwest<\/em><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>is her second novel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Amy Lovat<\/strong><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>is the author of<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em>Mistakes and Other Lovers<\/em><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>and the current program manager of the Newcastle Writers Festival.
