This was a live event after two years of holding an online festival and energy levels were high to be able to interact with students from 27 other girls\u2019 schools in person.\u00a0 Over the two days MLC School&#8217;s students performed in 10 different sections including debating, drama, readings, poetry, public speaking and team events. This is a tough competition with 25 other students from each school in most sections. It is extremely difficult to achieve a top 5 place is an achievement let alone win your event.<\/p>\n<p>Our Junior team (Year 7 to Year 9) were unstoppable and won the whole Junior division overall with MLC School first out of 27 schools.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Junior Readings 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0Place \u2013\u00a0<strong>Anna <\/strong>(Year 8)<\/li>\n<li>Junior Poetry 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0Place \u2013\u00a0<strong>Nitya<\/strong>\u00a0(Year 9)<\/li>\n<li>Junior Public Speaking 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0Place \u2013\u00a0<strong>Harriet <\/strong>(Year 8)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our Senior students (Year 10 and Year 11) were equally impressive against some high-quality competition.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Senior Poetry 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0Place \u2013\u00a0<strong>Dalia <\/strong>(Year 11)<\/li>\n<li>Current Affairs 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0Place \u2013\u00a0<strong>Selena <\/strong>(Year 11),\u00a0<strong>Sylie<\/strong>\u00a0(Year 11),\u00a0<strong>Isabel <\/strong>(Year 11)<\/li>\n<li>Religious &amp; Ethical Questions 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Place \u2013\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth<\/strong>\u00a0(Year 11),\u00a0<strong>Chloe <\/strong>(Year 11),\u00a0<strong>Alannah<\/strong>\u00a0(Year 11)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the overall tally MLC School came in a very close 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0place, our best result in the Festival of Speech for many years. Thank you to our dedicated coaches who trained our teams and came along to support them at the festival.
