Congratulations to Anne Gripper (1982)
2025 Alumnae Award for Sporting Achievement and Philanthropic Endeavours

Anne has spent over 25 years making exceptional contributions in both the not-for-profit and government sectors, particularly in sport, ethics, and governance. Known for her integrity, passion, and leadership, she has held high-level roles in Australia and internationally.

Currently, Anne serves on several boards, including as Chair of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Integrity Commission in Switzerland, Chair of the Ethics and Integrity Committee at AusCycling, and Executive Board Member of the Oceania Cycling Confederation. She represented UCI at the 2024 Paris Olympics and is a former CEO of Triathlon Australia and Executive Director at the NSW Office of Sport.

MLC School’s 1982 School Captain, Anne embodies the School’s values of service and leadership. Following the tragic loss of her partner, Dr June Canavan, in 2009, Anne completed June’s ambitious charity trek, raising over $150,000 for the School of St Jude in Tanzania. She later established the June Canavan Foundation, which has since funded over $3.6 million worth of projects in sport, health, education, and conservation.

Anne remains an active triathlete and is widely respected for her ability to foster change through collaboration, strategic vision, and ethical leadership. Her life’s work continues to inspire and make a lasting impact.
