{"id":5394,"date":"2026-03-20T10:30:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T23:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/mce\/?post_type=article&#038;p=5394"},"modified":"2026-03-20T10:30:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T23:30:08","slug":"year-9-2026-duke-of-edinburgh-program-eoi","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/mce\/article\/year-9-2026-duke-of-edinburgh-program-eoi\/","title":{"rendered":"Year 9 &#8211; 2026 Duke of Edinburgh Program &#8211; EOI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>20 March 2026<\/p>\n<p>Dear Parents\/Carers<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Year 9 2026 Duke of Edinburgh Program<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>Initial Expression of Interest<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Marist College Eastwood is looking into a possible opportunity for Year 9 2026\u00a0 students to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Program.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/dukeofed.com.au\/\">Duke of Edinburgh Program<\/a> is a structured (non-formal education) youth development\u00a0 program empowering all young Australians to explore their full potential and equip them with skills for life and work. To achieve a Bronze Award students must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>learn a new skill<\/li>\n<li>improve their physical wellbeing<\/li>\n<li>volunteer in their community and<\/li>\n<li>complete an Outdoor Adventure expedition (2 nights\/3 days) &#8211; to be run externally<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The College wishes to seek an initial expression of interest from parents\/students wanting to participate in the Bronze Level, including the Outdoor Adventure expedition.<\/p>\n<p>The registration fee to participate in The Duke of\u00a0 Edinburgh Bronze level program is $160 (approximately). This fee funds administration, support and oversight of the Award framework, including student access to the Online Record Book (ORB) system used to record\u00a0 experiences.<\/p>\n<p>The Outdoor Adventure expedition will take place at the Somerset Outdoor Learning Centre &#8211; Colo River and be run by trained instructors (with College staff in a supervisory role).
