Dear Parents/Carers

We are writing to inform you of an important update regarding our school uniform supplier.

As of Wednesday 3 September, Noone will become the official uniform supplier for our College, replacing Midford (formerly Cowan and Lewis). We are excited to partner with Noone, a trusted provider known for quality, service, and commitment to school communities. Noone is Australia’s leading designer and manufacturer of school uniforms and as a market leader in academic apparel, the Noone group of Companies supplies products to over 1,350 schools nationally. During these two days, parents and carers will not be able to purchase uniforms either online or in person. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this brief transition period.

As a customer focused organisation, Noone will be able to offer the following uniform services to the Marist College Eastwood Community:

Letter from the Director of Wellbeing

29 August 2025

Dear Parents/Carers

As part of our commitment to fostering a supportive and caring school community, the College will be having a mufti day on Friday 12 September 2025 (T3, W8) in support of R U OK? DAY. The students are further encouraged to wear some yellow on the day to further demonstrate visible support for the day. The students will also participate in a range of activities across the week during homeroom.

R U OK? Day is a harm prevention initiative that encourages people to stay connected and have conversations that can help others through difficult times in their lives.  R U OK Day is about encouraging people to invest time in personal relationships and building the capacity of support networks. By participating in this day, our students will learn valuable skills in empathy, active listening and the importance of mental health. We believe that coming together as a community, in this simple way, we can make an impact on the well-being of our students and continue to build a culture of care and support

Why Wear Yellow?

Yellow is the official colour of R U OK? Day, symbolising hope, positivity and the power of conversation. By wearing yellow, our students will visually demonstrate their support for mental health awareness and their commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable to ask, “Are you okay?”

In recognising the importance of mental health and checking in on one another, we also consider the people who support those on the margins of our society and check if they are OK. To this end we are asking students to make a gold coin donation to The Charitable Works Fund (CWF) on the day. The CWF supports the charitable and pastoral works of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney. These include; mental health support services for families and those struggling with addictions, homeless support services and chaplaincies for hospitals and prisons. Through this support we are extending the message of R U OK beyond our local school context to those in most need across our wider community.

In addition to this there will also be R U OK wristbands and lanyards for sale to the students, should you wish to purchase them. Proceeds from these sales will go to St Vincent De Paul.

On the day, students are expected to:

  • Ensure they have all their required equipment for the day.
  • This includes appropriate footwear for the kitchens, woodwork rooms and PDHPE lessons
  • Wear mufti, including a splash of yellow, ensuring that it is appropriate for the occasion, including:
  • Safe closed in shoes (no thongs)
  • No derogatory slogans or pictures
  • Ensure all other rules regarding attire such as hair, grooming and piercings  are adhered to

Thank you for your support of this important initiative.

Kind regards

Year 11 – Examination Timetable

8 August 2025

Dear Year 11 Parents/Carers

As we approach the Year 11 Final Examination block, commencing in Week 6 of Term 3, students enter a significant stage of their academic journey. These examinations provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate the depth of their learning and reflect their readiness for the transition into their HSC year in Term 4.

Attached to this communication is the Year 11 Examination Timetable, along with key information regarding examination procedures and expectations. We ask that both parents and students review these documents thoroughly to ensure familiarity with the College’s assessment policies. Adherence to these guidelines is essential for maintaining the integrity and smooth operation of the examination period. Please also note that Year 11 students will be given exam privileges and thus, are only required to be on school grounds for scheduled exams. However, this privilege can be revoked if behaviour and application are not to the high standards expected of a senior Marist Eastwood student.

This assessment phase allows students to consolidate their knowledge and conclude Year 11 with confidence. We encourage the development of consistent and realistic study habits in the lead-up to the examinations, including targeted revision, practice tasks, and subject-specific goal setting.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your son’s education. With focused preparation and commitment, students will be well-equipped to approach these final assessments and begin their HSC year with purpose and confidence.

Kind regards

Illness & Misadventure Application Process

20 June 2025

Dear Parents/Carers of Years 7–12 Students,

Illness and Misadventure Application Process

As per our previous communication, we have made the process for the Illness and Misadventure Application more accessible and efficient as it is now available via the online form. This applies to any student in Years 7–12 who is unable to complete or submit an assessment task on time due to illness, misadventure or other approved circumstances.

To assist with navigating these procedures, we have developed a clear question and answer style Assessment Procedures Guide for Years 7–12. This one-page resource outlines common scenarios, what action is required and the consequences of not following the process. We encourage all families to review this document to ensure they are familiar with the expectations around assessment tasks.

Key information to remember;

  • If a student is absent or unable to submit or complete an assessment task, an Assessment Illness/Misadventure Form must be submitted by a parent or carer using the online form.
  • Documentation must be submitted when completing this form:
    • Years 7–8: A signed parent/carer note is required.
    • Years 9–12: A Doctor’s Certificate or official documentation must be submitted.
  • The form must be submitted within five school days of the task due date.
  • Students must be prepared to submit or sit the task on their first day back unless advised otherwise.

We thank you for your support in ensuring that all students are given a fair and consistent opportunity to complete their assessments. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Ms Monique Brame
Director of Curriculum and NESA Accreditation
