Thank you to ISMS from The Smith Family
Inner Sydney Montessori School
For your generous donation of
161 Toys & 83 Books
for The Smith Family’s Toy & Books Appeal 2019
During the Appeal, we received 75,958 toys and 33,194 books from collectors like yourself. With 3,503 volunteers, we then sorted, packed and delivered these packs far and wide across Australia to 26,934 children.
None of this could have happened without you.
Our families were incredibly appreciative of the support provided to them which helped bring smiles to disadvantaged children. This is one of many letters we received from our families this year.
“This is the first time I have ever received or put my name down for this type of help from you guys. I was reluctant to as in some way I felt like a failure, being the Christmas in 16 years without the kids dad I wanted to make it extra special. I wanted it to be amazing for them not just in regards to presents but just having one Christmas without yelling and things being broken. Unfortunately this year went quick and as the days crept up on me, I realised there was no way I could give them a Christmas they deserved, they have suffered so much trauma and I started to stress out hoe to even put a meal on the table that was more special than their normal dinners.
Sitting down budgeting my money until Christmas, my door bell rang and it was two of your volunteers with a bag full of presents. I had completely forgotten about receiving this. i hope I didn’t come across rude to the volunteers or ungrateful but my mind was racing, it’s like my prayers had been answered within 10 minutes of sitting in my room crying. So please apologise for me as I am more than grateful for this amazing opportunity.
You guys are amazing, you have given my family a chance to have an amazing Christmas. no words can ever explain how appreciative I am and how much this helps out.
So from my family to all of you at The Smith Family, I was to wish you all a merry Christmas. Thanks to you all the stress of Christmas has become easier and I am one happy mum, knowing I can now have a “normal Christmas” and put food on the table Christmas day.”
