Personal Development & Health
During weeks 2 – 5 in Term 1, we will be building on a growth mindset, where we will look at trying new things, challenging oneself and having an open-mind to others’ ideas. On Monday all children will be given a handout to bring home, looking at ways to help develop a growth-mindset. In weeks 6 – 9 we will move on to resilience and for the last 3 weeks, inclusion (races, creed, ability, capacity, etc.).
Physical Education –
All stages completed a Fitness Challenge which included 1 minute of squats, push-ups, sit-ups, a flexed-arm hang and standing long jump. Stage 2 and 3 also had a trunk lift, trunk-flexion (sit and reach), and shoulder stretch (left and right).
Stage 1 will get a bit of both soccer and quick stix (lacrosse) throughout the term. Stage 2 will start with soccer (football) from weeks 2-6 and end the term with quick stix in weeks 7-11. Stage 3 will start with quick stix in week 2- 6 and end with soccer.
As we only have use of the park for one full day per week, we have split the term into two parts with Stage 3 at the park in the first part of the term and Stage 2 in the latter part of the term.
Proper shoes are a consideration for the Stage 2 and 3 children.
Kid’s Kafe (Stage 2/3 students)
We are starting with toasties this week and going to burgers, pizza, stir fry, spaghetti bolognese, lasagne, zucchini slice, rice paper rolls and casserole. Bookings are open to place orders if you want to get it done ahead of time. Orders need to be placed by 12:00pm on Monday as Scott downloads this information and prepares a list for ordering. The order is placed on Tuesday morning so the food can be delivered on Wednesday for preparation that afternoon.
