{"id":9577,"date":"2026-06-30T01:02:31","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T01:02:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/fortstreet\/?post_type=article&#038;p=9577"},"modified":"2026-06-30T01:02:31","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T01:02:31","slug":"pc-26","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/fortstreet\/article\/pc-26\/","title":{"rendered":"P&amp;C"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>P&amp;C MEETING Updates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday 11<sup>th<\/sup> June 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Representative Council Report \u00a0&#8211; William Short &amp; Myra Santiwong<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SRC continue to work on Fort Fest, updates include<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Banner Project progressing, painting and installation planned within this term<\/li>\n<li>SRC member are to volunteer \u2013 minimum one hour<\/li>\n<li>Promotion across year groups \u2013 encouraging broader engagement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Future Leaders Conference held on 22<sup>nd<\/sup> May with success, it was attended by 50 NSW schools.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Year 10 SRC members facilitated leadership workshops for visiting students, with diverse topics discussed ranging from leadership and mental health.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Secretary\u2019s Report and Previous Minutes \u2013 Lucy Liang<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Secretary confirmed apologies, no conflicts of interest, and the acceptance of previous minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principal\u2019s Report Highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Relieving Principal Josh O\u2019Neill Praised SRC and staff for conference success and noted ongoing excursions and co-curricular activities (e.g., Year 8 Medieval Day)<\/p>\n<p>Acknowledgement given to staff who supported the Future Leader Conference<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Treasurer\u2019s Report &#8211; Prabhu Sivabalan:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong financial position: Uniform Shop, IMP, P&amp;C and Term Deposits all showing healthy balances.<\/li>\n<li>One term deposit is due for renewal and will be reviewed within the renewal period<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Instrumental Music Program (IMP) Report \u2013 Tania Koit and Matthew Manchester:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recent concert at Sydney Opera House; strong student participation.<\/li>\n<li>Upcoming events: Harmony Chamber Choir (20 June), IMP Winter Concert (26 June).<\/li>\n<li>Planning for 2028 International Music Tour (pending approval and funding):<\/li>\n<li>Need for dedicated tour coordinator due to increased compliance requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Auditions and leadership position selections for next year\u2019s ensembles will commence following Year 12 students\u2019 retirement from the program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>General Business:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fort Fest \u2013 Elizabeth Kenyon<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Planning underway; $2,000 in raffle prizes secured which is great news and thanks for the generous donors and handwork from committee members; merchandise and food stalls in progress; more volunteers needed \u2013 warm welcome to all parents!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Year 12 Graduation:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Proposal to enhance event with refreshments, music, and photos.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Outdoor Fairy Lights:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Funding approved for installation to enhance school events. The original cost is not sufficient to meet the Department of Education safety and compliance requirement and accordingly adjusted, it is also a very worthy investments including IMP Concerts, Fort Fest and Open days.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>STEM Racing Team \u2013 Mr Sherwin<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Funding approved for material costs.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>School Hall Modernisation \u2013 Lucy Liang<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Discussion on potential upgrades (flooring, lighting, honour boards); further consultation planned.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Library Mural Project \u2013 Mr Sherwin<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A proposal from Juliette and Vivienne for a student-centred mural project near the library entrance.
