{"id":8535,"date":"2025-11-28T03:09:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-28T03:09:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/fortstreet\/?post_type=article&#038;p=8535"},"modified":"2025-11-28T03:09:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-28T03:09:08","slug":"p-c-update","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/fortstreet\/article\/p-c-update\/","title":{"rendered":"P &amp; C Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>P&amp;C MEETING Updates \u2013 P &amp; C Annual General Meeting<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday 12th November 2025<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Motion passed &#8211; That the minutes from the previous annual general meeting, 13th November 2024, be accepted as a true record.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>President\u2019s report \u2013 AGM 2025 \u2013 Caroline Aow<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After another year of dedicated work, President Caroline delivered the President\u2019s report for the 2025 AGM highlights the achievements and activities of the Fort Street High School P&amp;C over the year:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Community Engagement: The President attended school events, budget meetings, and Foundation meetings, representing the P&amp;C and supporting school priorities and student wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Student Activities: The SRC organised successful events, including the Future Leaders Conference with over 350 students from 50 schools, the International Women\u2019s Day BBQ, and other initiatives promoting inclusion and school spirit.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Reconciliation Action Plan: Progress was made with initiatives such as incorporating local Aboriginal language, developing signage recognising Country, and professional learning for teachers.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Financial Contributions: The P&amp;C approved funding for various projects, including sports bus hire, new instruments for the IMP, speech day prizes, staff lunch, and upgrades to the uniform shop.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Uniform Shop: The shop performed well, with improvements in payment systems and margin reviews for sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Communication Improvements: Regular P&amp;C updates were added to the school newsletter, and information accessibility was enhanced via the school website.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Acknowledgments: The President expressed gratitude to the P&amp;C Executive, committee members, volunteers, teachers, and students for their contributions. Special thanks were given to outgoing members for their service.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Looking Ahead: The P&amp;C aims to continue funding projects that enhance student learning, wellbeing, and community connection in 2026, with new SRC representatives joining the team.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 The report reflects a successful year for the P&amp;C in supporting the school community and fostering a vibrant, inclusive environment. Secretary\u2019s Report<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Heartfelt appreciation to our P &amp; C members and volunteers as below:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Emma Pearce and Tracey Chen, our Vice Presidents, for their energy and ongoing support.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Malcolm Groves, our Secretary, for keeping us organised and ensuring minutes and actions are always on track. Sadly, Malcolm is standing down as Secretary as he has served his 3-year tenure, and I will miss his expertise and guidance.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Prabhu Sivabalan, who stepped into the role of Treasurer this year and has done an excellent job managing our finances.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Elizabeth Kenyon, Kirrily Druery, Vivian Wang, Elaine Huang, Jens Olscher, Stella Liang who as part of the P&amp;C executive provided wonderful insight and advice at meetings. Sadly, Kirrily and Elaine are standing down from executive roles, and their input will be missed.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Emma Pearce for continuing her role in co-ordinating the second-hand uniform shop and stepping in for me at presentation day.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Elizabeth Kenyon for stepping in as meeting chair in my absence.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Gladys Ko and Stella Liang, for running the uniform shop so smoothly and Kirrily Druery for helping Stella and Gladys implement the new Flexischools portal for uniform purchases.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Vivian Wang who ensured that the P&amp;C always had something to contribute to Mecurius.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Paula Katalinic, Tania Koit and the IMP Committee, for their ongoing work supporting Matt Manchester and our music students.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Our School Executive, Juliette McMurray, Dave Sherwin, and Carolyn Mattock, who attend our meetings and keep us well-informed about the school\u2019s direction and priorities.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Our outgoing SRC representatives, Beatrice Shimada and Avivi Davidson, for continuing to bring the student perspective to our meetings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual reports accepted.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Treasurer\u2019s Auditor\u2019s Annual Report \u2013 2025 \u2013 presented by Prabhu Sivabalan<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Financial report accepted.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Appointment of and Questions to the Auditor<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>IMP Report \u2013 presented by Tania Koit<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Election of Executive Committee, Sub-Committees and Representatives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Juliette McMurray agreed to be the returning officer.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Juliette thanked the present committee for their effort during the past year and their dedication to the school.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Juliette thanked the overall P&amp;C community for support for the school over the course of the year.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Nominations and Election of P&amp;C Association Office Bearers<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Juliette McMurray, as returning Officer for the AGM, declared all positions vacant and called for nominations.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Juliette then announced results accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>President Position:<\/p>\n<p>\u25aa Caroline Aow<\/p>\n<p>Treasurer Position:<\/p>\n<p>\u25aa Prabhu Sivabalan<\/p>\n<p>Vice President Position:<\/p>\n<p>\u25aa Emma Pearce<\/p>\n<p>\u25aa Alex Ding<\/p>\n<p>Secretary Position:<\/p>\n<p>\u25aa Lucy Liang<\/p>\n<p>Executive Positions:<\/p>\n<p>The following members were proposed as part of the executive committee to advise the P&amp;C:<\/p>\n<p>Malcolm Groves, Sivvy Xu, Jens Olscher, Elizabeth Kenyon, Vivian Wang, Tracey Chen<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212; All were seconded and appointed unopposed.<\/p>\n<p>Confirmation of IMP Sub-Committee Roles<\/p>\n<p>The meeting confirmed the IMP roles as:<\/p>\n<p>\u25aa Tania Koit and Paula Katalinic \u2013 Co-Convenors.<\/p>\n<p>\u25aa Pak-Luan Yeoh \u2013 Treasurer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Acknowledgement of Our Wonderful Volunteers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the many volunteers who have been actively involved in the operation of the Uniform Shop. Every Wednesday, you come from near and far to pack, unpack, and assist our students with such dedication. Your efforts are truly indispensable, and your contribution has been invaluable to us, the school, the parents, and the students.
