School Spirit Week<\/b><\/p>\n

In Week 10, Term 2, the SRC co-organised School Spirit Week with the House Captains. The event entailed a week-long of events, activities and competitions students could get involved with. The goal of the event was to raise school and house spirit, along with hosting fun events to keep students engaged as the halfway mark of the year approached. The house captains organised netball competitions, chess competitions and a Mario Kart tournament. We had a few disruptions throughout the week, but nonetheless, it was a fun and successful Spirit Week!<\/span><\/p>\n

Spirit Week Monday<\/b><\/p>\n

Monday was stalls day, where students and committees were able to host stalls during lunchtime which were self-profitable or towards a charity. 13 student-led stalls were hosted in the Kilgour Quad, including the SRC BBQ, bake sales, Indian food, jewellery, waffles, cookies, brownies and drawings. Thank you to all students who put in initiative to organise their stall for the school to enjoy. Spirit Week Wednesday<\/b><\/p>\n

Wednesday was mufti day and the Rubik\u2019s cube competition. The speed cubing competition had 3 different events; 3×3, 2×2 and Pyraminx. Thank you to everyone who participated and congratulations to the following students who ranked in the top 3 of their events (averages are listed).<\/span><\/p>\n

Spirit Week Friday<\/b><\/p>\n

The SRC hosted a movie night in the hall during an extended lunchtime. Many students joined us in the hall to watch My Neighbour Totoro and munch on some snacks. The movie was voted on via our Instagram page (@fshssrc) which the Fort Street community should follow to stay updated with upcoming events and school business!<\/span><\/p>\n

After the NAIDOC assembly, the SRC collected donations for Gunawirra, a non-profit organisation. Gunawirra connects Aboriginal families and children to early intervention programs centred around healing, resilience, self-reliance and culture.
