Our topic was \u2018that we should allow students to opt out of sport and PE classes in favour of academics\u2019 and we were given the affirmative side.<\/p>\n<p>Our first speaker was Matilda Gibian who delivered<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-3766 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/d1dfwahqlx324v.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/sites\/37\/2022\/05\/Year_11_Debate_4-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/d1dfwahqlx324v.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/sites\/37\/2022\/05\/Year_11_Debate_4-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/d1dfwahqlx324v.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/sites\/37\/2022\/05\/Year_11_Debate_4-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/d1dfwahqlx324v.cloudfront.net\/uploads\/sites\/37\/2022\/05\/Year_11_Debate_4-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/> an excellent speech about the benefits of devoting more time to helping students who may find certain fields of academic challenging. Rose Kenyon, our second speaker, then rebutted the opposition by outlining the interruptions that events such as last<br \/>\nyear\u2019s lockdown and the recent floods, brought to the delivery of sport and PE programs.
