{"id":241,"date":"2018-07-02T03:08:28","date_gmt":"2018-07-02T03:08:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/fortstreet\/?post_type=article&#038;p=241"},"modified":"2018-07-02T03:09:20","modified_gmt":"2018-07-02T03:09:20","slug":"death-in-the-senate","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/fortstreet\/article\/death-in-the-senate\/","title":{"rendered":"Death in the Senate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On June 22nd, Mr deBres\u2019 Year seven history class, 7R, performed a play called\u00a0<em>Death in the Senate<\/em>\u00a0near Meleager\u2019s statue in the Fountain Quad.<br \/>\nThe play focuses on the time immediately before and after Julius Caesar\u2019s death. The tragic protagonist, Julius Caesar, was played by Ibrahim Mohamed, who died valiantly at the end of the play (with a lot of noise). Other main characters included the Soothsayer (You Wei); Brutus (Arlo); Cassius (Emilian); Trebonius (Akira) and the three narrators &#8211; Joey, Jaydn and Mary. The rest of the class formed the Chorus of chanters.<\/p>\n<p>Before the play we dressed up in our togas (some were more expert at this task than others) and made a sacrifice to the Roman gods. Then we went out to perform the play in the Fountain quad, enchanting passers-by with our perfectly presented togas and fabulous dramatic abilities.
