Over the last few weeks\u00a0the Year 9 French class dreamed up, wrote, rehearsed, memorised,\u00a0blocked\u00a0and performed their very own play about the French Revolution: “La R\u00e9volution\u00a0fran\u00e7aise, or l’histoire de la baguette”. As well as being writers and performers, they were\u00a0prop and costume designers, and our expert\u00a0sound engineer managed to splice the Dr Who theme neatly on to Mendelssohn’s Wedding March, matching key, timbre and tempo with staggering precision.\u00a0The Year 9s\u00a0wrote the play with the Year 7 French classes in mind, half in simple French and half in English, with plenty of language jokes and a good measure of slapstick humour. The plot traced two Aussie tourists’\u00a0visit to France, and\u00a0and the final result was\u00a0both\u00a0entertaining and enlightening, with a bit of magic involved. The play’s final line was a\u00a0COVID-friendly affirmation\u00a0of home, as one of the tourists exclaimed, on leaving Paris: “I miss Bowral!”<\/p>\n

Our wonderful Year 9 French students\u00a0are to be congratulated on this spectacular\u00a0effort.<\/p>\n
