The Duke of Edinburgh at Fort Street in 2022
Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award plans for 2022 are due this week. The Award gives students the opportunity to develop and demonstrate the skills valued by universities and employers, such as leadership, team work, organisational skills and initiative. The basic structure for each level of the award involves students completing several hours developing a selected skill, a voluntary service and a physical recreation through a regular commitment. Students also participate in an adventurous journey at each level of the award.
All Fortians are invited to complete their Bronze award. This first part of this journey is submitting an award plan to Ms Page at the Front office. Furthermore, the Year 9 Camp will also satisfy the requirements for a Bronze level Adventurous Journey. However, students are urged to continue to complete their Silver and then Gold level awards in Year 10, 11 and 12.
If parents are interested or would like advice for supporting their child in completing in the Duke of Edinburgh award in 2022, feel free to contact Mr Latimer. Information about the Bronze award has been presented to Year students during their Week 5 Fortunae lessons.
