Sports tournaments at Fort Street

During Term 3 there were two very successful lunchtime sporting tournaments run. Both tournaments were organised by Year 12 students and had teams from all year levels enter. There was great participation and crowd numbers each day, leading to a packed Gym almost every lunchtime.

The first competition was an indoor Futsal tournament run by Matt Brewster. The tournament was run over several weeks and included many close games between evenly matched teams. The overall winning team was ‘Right Up The Dias’, who won the Final on penalties!

Following the Futsal tournament, there was a Basketball tournament run by Luke Noorbergen. This was also highly successful and featured a Grand Final between a staff team and a Year 12 team. The Year 12 team ‘Brick’d Up’ were too good on the day and won the competition comfortably.

Both tournaments created a buzz around the school and gave students plenty of excitement during a rainy Term 3. It was great to see so many of the Year 12’s supporting each other and taking part in different ways. It was also fantastic to see the senior student spent their last few weeks at Fort Street doing something so positive and memorable together.

Congratulations and well done to everyone who participated. Special thank you to Matt and Luke for running such successful tournaments!
