Some exciting news from our CAPA faculty this week

One of our fabulous senior musicians, Edmund Huang who is a finalist in the Sutherland Music Club Composition competition.  

Every year the Sutherland Music club presents the Sutherland Shire & St George Youth Music Awards (YMA), a competition that has been running for 32 years. Edmund has been chosen as a finalist for the Waratah Award for Young Composers (19 to 21 year olds). This prestigious composition competition, with the theme ‘Colours and Shapes’  will be adjudicated by the renowned Australian percussionist and composer Claire Edwardes.

The Finals Concert will be held on Friday night 5th July 2024 at 7.00 pm, in the Sutherland Arts Theatre, 25 East Parade Sutherland. 

The “Young Composer” prizes will be presented at the start of the evening and two compositions

Tickets can be purchased online via Ticketek (+ $3.60 Ticketek transaction fee) or from The Pavilion Box Office, 30 Eton St Sutherland (open 10.00am – 4.00pm every Thursday & Friday with no transaction fee.) Ticket prices are $23 Adult, $18 Concession (including Seniors), $10 Student.
