Fort Street World’s Greatest Shave

Fort Street World’s Greatest Shave

On the 17th of May, Fort Street hosted the World’s Greatest Shave to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation. This cause supports the 140,000 Australians facing blood cancer by funding support services and scientific research.

Over the past year, the Year 12 Charity Committee has organised other school fundraising events for the Leukaemia Foundation including the Fort St Freezeria, Clubs and Committees stall and Cross Country Barbecue, raising a total of $2,800.

This term’s event saw over 40 students and staff members sign up to shave, cut and colour their hair. Our top fundraising members were:

  1. Mr Moon
  2. Brandon Djamhur
  3. Carissa Lam

Notable mentions to Mr Prasad for bidding his hair, Mr Shakibaei for colouring and shaving his beard and our two dog mascots Lola Andersen and Dodger Mattick who also participated in the shave! 🐶🪒

The total amount currently raised is at $24,853.32

We would like to thank the Fort Street community and friends and families of our team members for their generous support. Additionally, special thanks to the Year 12 Charity Committee, for their dedication to this initiative, led by Josie Pradhan, Daya Yu, Kalanie Prabhakar and Hannah Grace Lee. Thank you to Ms Ryan and Ms Druery for helping us organise charity events and Mr Leondios and Mr Gillespie for running the BBQ.

Our donation page is still open if you would like to contribute:
