Last week a team of five students in Year 12 represented Fort Street in the Schools Innovation Challenge Hackathon 2026 hosted by the award-winning EdTech innovator HEX in partnership with the University of Sydney. Teams had to collaborate and innovate in a fast-paced challenge designed by HEX around the concept of “the city in 2050”. The students had to demonstrate their future-ready skills: creativity, critical thinking and teamwork to develop and pitch a vision to the USyd academics and alumni who were the judges. The event also provided the teams with an opportunity to connect with current students and various academics at the university and explore the campus and its facilities.
Congratulations to Angus B, Raghav G, Maxaviar L, Lucas N and Danny X for maintaining Fort Street’s excellent reputation with the University of Sydney and making a great impression on the day.
All students are encouraged to read their DET emails regularly to find information about a wide range of opportunities available throughout the year.
