Gotcha4Life 24hr Row

On Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th September our school community will be taking part in the GOTCHA4LIFE 24 HOUR ROW FOR MENTAL FITNESS.
Fort Street High School will have 2 rowing machines operating non-stop oniste for 24 hours to raise funds for Gotcha4Life to help build mental fitness in communities across the country.
It is a chance as a community to come together, have fun, and support each other while spreading the importance of mental fitness and social connection.
Last year this event was one of the highlights of the school calendar!

The Annual 24 Hour Row is now in its 6th year, after being established in 2017 by Mel and Nathan Wellings of Avalon Beach Surf Life Saving club, after seeing too many lives lost to suicide in their local community. In 2017, the Avalon SLS community raised $14,000, that provided the locals with powerful mental fitness programs. In the last 5 years, the 24 Hour Row has gone on to raise over $680,000, delivering mental fitness programs to more than 17,000 individuals in SLS clubs, schools, sports clubs, and communities around Australia.

The 24-Hour Row event continues to grow each year, with 57 locations participating in 2022 across SLS clubs, rowing clubs, gyms, schools, and workplaces, raising $309,000 in support of mental fitness. This year, Australia’s biggest community rowing event will be bigger than ever, with widespread participation from clubs and teams all over the county, bringing local communities together, and raising awareness of and funds in support of building mental fitness
