As a Christian school, we believe that the ultimate sacrifice\u2014laid down in the service of others\u2014is embodied in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. The ANZAC spirit of selflessness and courage parallels the message of love and sacrifice that Christ calls us to live out in our own lives. Jesus\u2019 words from the Gospel of John, \u201cGreater love has no one than this: to lay down one\u2019s life for one\u2019s friends\u201d (John 15:13), resonate deeply as we consider the sacrifice made by ANZAC soldiers, who gave everything so that others might have peace and freedom.<\/p>\n

This ANZAC ceremony also served as a reminder to our students that we are called to live lives of service, whether in times of peace or conflict, by putting the needs of others before our own. It\u2019s through acts of love and sacrifice that we truly honor those who have gone before us, and our Christian faith teaches us to pray for those still serving in defense of peace today.<\/p>\n

As we move forward, let us remember the courage and sacrifice of those who have fought for the freedoms we hold dear, and let us be inspired to live lives that reflect the same courage and selflessness in our daily actions. May we continue to teach our children the value of peace, the cost of freedom, and the call to serve others with a heart full of compassion and grace.<\/p>\n
