Principal’s End of Term Messages

Principal’s End of Term Messages

Dear Families,

As we come to the end of Term 2, I would like to thank all of our families for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership throughout the term. It has been a wonderful season of learning, growth, achievement, and community, and we are grateful to walk alongside you in the education and care of your children.

As a Christian College, we count it a privilege to partner with families in caring and supporting young people who grow in wisdom, character, and faith. Thank you for entrusting us with this important responsibility.

I pray that the next three weeks provide your family with an opportunity to rest, refresh, and enjoy quality time together. May God bless you with good health, safety, and His peace over the holiday break.

Can you name all 66 books of the bible?

Can you name all 66 books of the bible?

Well … 22 of our Primary School students can!

Mrs Friend who is our Primary Christian Living Coordinator promised a celebration lunch for every Primary Student who could name every book of the Bible.

Students from Years 4 -6 recited the books to both Mrs Thomas and Mrs Rankin at the special celebration and received a certificate to acknowledge this achievement.

Congratulations Students – we pray that this ignites the flame for you to continue to always seek the truth contained in each and every book of the Bible for the rest of your lives!

Science Week – The Silly Scientist Incursion

Science Week – The Silly Scientist Incursion

For Science Week our Primary School was excited to welcome the dynamic duo from The Silly Scientist, who captivated our Year 1–6 students with an exploration of the fascinating world of science.

Students were fully engaged throughout, with many enjoying the opportunity to participate in fun, interactive demonstrations on stage. It was a fantastic experience that not only sparked curiosity but also reflected the wonder and awe of God’s creation—reminding us of His incredible power, creativity, and perfect design.

Following the visit, our teachers have continued these conversations back in the classroom, encouraging students to further explore and appreciate God’s creative design in the world around them.

GRIT – Year 5 and 6

GRIT – Year 5 and 6

During Term 2, our Year 5 and 6 Students have been training and competing against Frederick Irwin, Mandurah Catholic College, Assumption and Mandurah Baptist in AFL, Soccer, Volleyball, Hockey and Netball.

On Friday 19 June our teams competed against other schools in the Peel Region in the Peel Schools Sporting Association Competition.

Well done students for showing great sportsmanship and resilience throughout the competition!

WA Symphony Orchestra Excursion – Years 9-11

WA Symphony Orchestra Excursion – Years 9-11

Our Year 9–11 Music students attended the West Australian Symphony Orchestra’s education performance of ‘A Guide to Film Music’ at the Riverside Theatre.

The interactive performance featured the works of renowned Japanese film composer Joe Hisaishi, giving students the opportunity to explore how his distinctive musical style builds emotion, atmosphere and storytelling on screen.

As composition is a key component in Year 9–11 Music, the outing gave students distinct skills that they can use in their own original film music compositions.

Careers Pathway Evening Success!

Careers Pathway Evening Success!

It was wonderful to see such a great turnout of students and parents at our recent Career Pathways session. Thank you to our expert presenters for sharing valuable insights and guidance to support our students’ futures.

The positive feedback from both parents and students has been encouraging, with many feeling confident that they are on the right path as they prepare for Years 11 and 12.

Students should have now made their selections via the online portal and we look forward to continuing to support our students as they make these important decisions for their future!

Year 10 Masterchef Challenge!

Year 10 Masterchef Challenge!

This year’s Year 10 MasterChef Challenge pushed students to the next level! Working against the clock, students had just 1 hour and 20 minutes to prepare not one, but two dishes – a savoury main and a dessert.

Each team selected a country to represent and created dishes that stayed true to the authentic flavours and traditions of that cuisine while adding their own creative twist. Alongside their cooking, students also presented a food label for their main dish. The menu featured an incredible range of dishes, including Pork Schnitzel and Apple Strudel, Lasagne and Biscotti, Bobotie and Cinnamon Pannekoek, and Chicken Souvlaki and Loukoumades. The creativity and quality of the dishes were outstanding.
The standard of cooking was exceptional, with students demonstrating impressive time management, organisation, creativity, and culinary skills.

Congratulations to our 2026 Year 10 MasterChef Champions, Dylan Subke and Noah Batchelor, who claimed first place with their outstanding Italian menu of Pecorino and Pancetta Carbonara and a classic Chocolate Tiramisu. Their dishes perfectly captured authentic Italian flavours and earned them a well-deserved place on the Year 10 MasterChef Honour Board after an incredibly competitive challenge.

A special shout-out also goes to our runners-up, whose dishes were of an exceptionally high standard and pushed the winners all the way. The competition was incredibly close, making the judges’ decision one of the toughest yet. Well done to all of our aspiring MasterChefs for their enthusiasm, creativity, and outstanding effort!

Mayor Amber Kearns Visit

Mayor Amber Kearns Visit

Just before the end of term, our Executive Team had the pleasure of spending some time with Mayor Amber Kearns. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase everything we value about our school and our families.

We enjoyed sharing our vision and plans for the future, and highlighting what makes our community so special.

We are grateful for the time Mayor Kearns spent with us, it means so much to our school community.
Music Recitals

Music Recitals

At Foundation Christian College, we value the Arts, and our Music Program is something we are incredibly proud of. With almost 100 students participating, our talented tutors work onsite with students throughout the school day, nurturing their skills and confidence.

Twice a year, our students are given the opportunity to shine at our Music Recitals, and the performances which were carried out over two days were no exception. It was wonderful to see our students showcase what they have been working on, and we are so proud of how far each of them has come.

Performing in front of an audience can be very nerve-wracking, but every student showed courage, did their very best, and performed beautifully to a warm and encouraging crowd.
A heartfelt thank you to our parents and families for your ongoing support—it makes such a difference in helping our students grow and thrive in their musical journey.

Enjoy the gallery of a selection of images taken at the events.
