Our Year 9’s went on camp. It was a time of joy and growth for our young people. Our students were stretched and many stepped out of their comfort zone, and themselves and the College beautifully. With the theme of ‘Community’ they focused on team building exercises and working together.
What a fantastic and smooth start we have had to Term 2! It has been a pleasure to see students settle back into their learning routines with enthusiasm and energy. We have a busy and exciting term ahead, filled with events and opportunities for growth and community engagement.
We began the term with a very special whole college ANZAC Service held outside. Thank you to Commander Tucker and Mr and Mrs Fowler for their presence and contribution to the service. It was a rewarding experience for our students to witness the involvement of a service horse and dog, adding a touching element to the occasion.
Our Year 3–6 students have now commenced their swimming lessons, and it has been great to see their confidence and skills develop. Some of our secondary students are currently completing their OLNA testing. We pray for clarity and peace of mind for each of them as they work through their assessments.
Next week is Production Week! I hope you have secured your tickets for The Sound of Music at FCC. Our hardworking staff have done an incredible job bringing this production together, and our talented students have been dedicated to their rehearsals, perfecting every scene and song. I am incredibly proud of the commitment and passion they have shown.
It is a privilege to live and work in such a wonderful college community, surrounded by servant hearted staff and the opportunity to guide our amazing students. I am reminded of the blessing we have in this place, as it says in Psalm 127:1 “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain.” I am confident that God is building something truly special here at FCC.
Blessings,
Clint King
Principal
As a Christian school, we believe that the ultimate sacrifice—laid down in the service of others—is embodied in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. The ANZAC spirit of selflessness and courage parallels the message of love and sacrifice that Christ calls us to live out in our own lives. Jesus’ words from the Gospel of John, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13), resonate deeply as we consider the sacrifice made by ANZAC soldiers, who gave everything so that others might have peace and freedom.
This ANZAC ceremony also served as a reminder to our students that we are called to live lives of service, whether in times of peace or conflict, by putting the needs of others before our own. It’s through acts of love and sacrifice that we truly honor those who have gone before us, and our Christian faith teaches us to pray for those still serving in defense of peace today.
As we move forward, let us remember the courage and sacrifice of those who have fought for the freedoms we hold dear, and let us be inspired to live lives that reflect the same courage and selflessness in our daily actions. May we continue to teach our children the value of peace, the cost of freedom, and the call to serve others with a heart full of compassion and grace.
At Foundation Christian College, we are excited to introduce a set of core values that will guide and shape the culture of our school community. As we strive to grow not only in knowledge but also in character, these values will serve as a foundation for how we live, learn, and serve together. Rooted in biblical principles, these values reflect our commitment to nurturing students who not only excel academically but also embody the love, humility, and integrity that Christ calls us to live by.
Each of these values is supported by a verse from Scripture, reminding us that they are not merely ideals, but divine truths to which we are called. Below, we share with you our six core values, their definitions, and the Bible verses that inspire them.
Guiding and uplifting others with wisdom, humility, and a heart for others, reflecting Christ’s example.
“Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.”
— Proverbs 11:14
Being honest, trustworthy, and accountable for one’s actions.
“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.”
— Proverbs 10:9
Trusting in God’s plan and living according to His word.
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
— Hebrews 11:1
Striving for the best in everything, whether academic, personal, or extracurricular.
Excellence is a reflection of God’s character. As we pursue excellence in all we do, we are showing our dedication to using the gifts and talents He has given us to their fullest potential. This value calls our students to strive for the best, not for worldly recognition, but as an offering to God.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
— Colossians 3:23
Treating others with kindness, valuing differences, and fostering a safe environment for everyone.
Respect is a foundational value that promotes harmony and peace within our school. We teach our students to honor and value each other, recognizing that each individual is made in God’s image. Respecting others fosters a community where all are treated with dignity and kindness.
“Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.”
— 1 Peter 2:17
Selflessly helping others and contributing to the well-being of the community.
True greatness in God’s eyes is found in service to others. Our students are encouraged to follow Christ’s example of humility and love by serving others in meaningful ways. Through service, we demonstrate our faith and contribute to the greater good of our community.
“Serve one another humbly in love.”
— Galatians 5:13
These core values will be at the heart of our daily learning environment. From the classroom to extracurricular activities, we will continually encourage our students to live out these principles. We believe that when our students embrace these values, they are not only preparing for academic success, but also for a life that honors God and serves others.
We invite you, as parents, to join us in supporting the development of these values in our students’ lives. We encourage you to reflect on these values with your children, share your own insights, and model them in your daily lives. Together, we can create a community that reflects Christ’s love and truth in all that we do.
Thank you for your continued partnership in shaping the future of our students.
