I started off as a primary school teacher and have now worked across all areas of Advancement: Admissions, Community Relations, Marketing and now Philanthropy.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.What is your p<\/strong><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">roudest achievement?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<br \/>\n<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The people I have met and the friendships formed is number 1 for me!! As well as reinvigorating an Alumni program and in particular a one-day symposium aptly named, \u2018Empower Me, Inspire Her\u2019, designed for all women in the school community in which I worked. Professionally, it is the thing I am most proud of.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">3.What is your biggest challenge?<br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Wearing too many hats has been challenging yet also exciting. With diversity brings creativity and interest, and certainly not boredom! At times though it has felt like I was spread too thin. I am now enjoying a deeper focus, still with lots of diversity but perhaps in a more honed way.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>4.What is the m<\/strong><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Most impactful book or podcast you\u2019ve consumed recently?<br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">I mostly read for enjoyment \u2013 can\u2019t go past a Liane Moriarty, Jane Harper or Dervla McTiernan. I do go through stages of podcasts like The Imperfects, All in the Mind, Lives Less Ordinary, and Fundraising is Beautiful! I vow to do more of this, especially in a new role where this is so much to learn.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">5.What are three tips that you for new members and\/or those new to Advancement.<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Get out from behind your desk \u2013 chat to people and build connections. Share and collaborate as much as you can.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Don\u2019t be afraid to ask for help.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Always keep asking the \u2018why\u2019: just because it is, doesn\u2019t mean it should be!<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a06.<\/strong><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What do you find most valuable in being a member of Educate Plus?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">I don\u2019t know where I would be, professionally, without Educate Plus. With a background in teaching, I have always been passionate about education. Attending SIGs, Summits and Conferences has opened my eyes to so much in the world of Advancement. I have learnt so much from so many experts and developed skills I never knew existed.
