WA Chapter eNews August 2022 - 10 August 2022

President’s Report

Dear Members,

We finally made it – and boy, was it worth the wait!

It was great to revel in the face-to-face networking, and fantastic professional development opportunities at the REIGNITE International Conference held in Adelaide in June.

Not only were we able to connect with our colleagues and sponsors from both interstate, and abroad, we were also able to connect with members of our WA chapter, thanks to the amazing social program interspersed with the conference sessions. I am proud to say that WA was the last chapter standing at the final event on the last evening!  Way to go team!

It was also a very special and unique opportunity for members of our chapter to be able to help launch the announcement of the next location for the 2024 International Conference, which will be held right here in WA!  That announcement was launched with a bang (literally), and we couldn’t be more excited to bring this event here to Perth. It will be an exhilarating time for our chapter, and we will be looking for our members to rally together to put on a fantastic conference.

For those that couldn’t join us in Adelaide, you are still able to get in on the action by purchasing the online package of recorded sessions to share with your team. This is a fantastic resource and a great professional opportunity.

Keep your eyes on our calendar as we have some great events planned to get us to the end of the year, including our regional PD day on Friday 9 September in Bunbury, and our end of year one-day mini-conference (AGM) with dates still to be confirmed. As we start to plan for 2023, for both the Chapter Conference (about to be re-branded as a Summit) and other activities, we will be looking for your input in the form of a survey, so please take a moment to share your thoughts when you receive the survey link within the coming weeks.

Finally, I would like to take the opportunity to extend special thanks to the WA committee. They are constantly making room in their busy lives to try to help our chapter access the best opportunities for professional development and networking, and I am grateful for the time they give to our organisation. Our team is small, but mighty! Thank you so much for your work!

Kind regards

Susie

Advancement Practitioner Training

Are you looking to enhance your skills and develop your career? Are you interested in learning more about other areas of Advancement or do you want to learn about best practice from experienced presenters?

Then we’re very excited to let you know that the Advancement Practitioner Training Course is available again, ‘face to face’ in 2022.

The training will take place on 1 and 2 September at the University of Melbourne, 241 Royal Parade, Parkville, Melbourne.

Educate Plus launched this training over eight years ago to connect and empower Advancement staff across Australasia who are committed to providing the best possible service to their institutions. It is aimed at beginner and intermediate-level practitioners and is perfectly suited for staff who need to upskill quickly.

Feedback from previous course participants encourages us to keep innovating and tailoring our course content to ensure we are providing the best practice in our industry and featuring the latest tools, processes and expertise.

“The information that was presented and shared within each webinar was exceptional. So informative and helpful. I always enjoyed the question time and am very grateful for the generous manner of which all of the presenters were prepared to share their own expertise and IP. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the course. I have more information than I know what to do with!”
