NZMS<\/a> is the sole New Zealand reseller of Recollect<\/a>, a special collection management and community engagement platform. Recollect was originally created and developed through NZMS before being spun out on its own 2 years ago. There are now over 100 Recollect clients around the world including large municipal archives, universities, schools, libraries, historical societies, and more.<\/p>\n

Recollect<\/strong> is designed to help organisations share their local history and build meaningful connections with their stakeholders. It was built to fill a gap identified by NZMS customers who realised that digitising their important heritage material was only part of the answer to preserving history. The other part was generating community engagement and participation with their collections \u2014 including inviting people to contribute family and personal archives to enrich institutional collections, or simply creating a space to share recollections and stories relating to the material.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We have come to understand that providing an online platform for digital archives (such as photo albums, year books, manuscripts, diaries, photographic prints, ephemera, etc.) is a logical endpoint for NZMS services, which began in 1990 microfilming the country\u2019s newspapers. Microfilm remains an important focus for NZMS and it is the only organisation in Aotearoa New Zealand offering this service, ensuring newspapers are microfilmed and available in library reading rooms around the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n

NZMS\u2019 services have continued to expand throughout its 30+ years in business. In addition to microfilm, digitisation, and guiding clients through the Recollect implementation process, NZMS can provide advice on digitisation standards or workflows, supply scanning or camera equipment, and offer training for groups tackling projects in-house.<\/p>\n

Our goal is to help our customers unlock the value in their archives through digitising and sharing important collections, encouraging contextual storytelling, and forming strong community connections.<\/p>\n
