{"id":1061,"date":"2022-08-31T12:32:34","date_gmt":"2022-08-31T02:32:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/educateplus-nz\/?post_type=article&#038;p=1061"},"modified":"2022-08-31T12:32:34","modified_gmt":"2022-08-31T02:32:34","slug":"big-progress-2","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/educateplus-nz\/article\/big-progress-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Big Progress"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6><strong>KPMG k\u014drero and new scholarships announced at Otago Business School<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>A recruitment event held at the Otago Business School recently was also an opportunity to announce two new scholarships for finance and accounting students.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday 3 August KPMG and the Otago Business School hosted the session, where accounting and finance students could engage and learn from current pioneers in the industry, and the scholarships were announced.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em>Article from Otago University | <\/em><em>Source: https:\/\/www.otago.ac.nz\/ Bulletin Board | <\/em><em>K\u014drero by Otago Business School Communications Adviser, Kelsey Schutte<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A recruitment event held at the Otago Business School recently was also an opportunity to announce two new scholarships for finance and accounting students.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday 3 August KPMG and the Otago Business School hosted the session, where accounting and finance students could engage and learn from current pioneers in the industry, and the scholarships were announced.<\/p>\n<p>KPMG Partner (Tax), Nick Hope, spoke at the August 3 session alongside other representatives from the firm before a social pizza session in the School\u2019s atrium.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Hope also announced two new scholarships from KPMG available to Department of Accountancy and Finance students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese scholarships will be awarded annually and are called \u2018Fulfilling New Zealand\u2019s prosperity\u2019 to encourage students to step into the great potential they have for the future,\u201d Mr Hope says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe prizes will be awarded on the recommendation of the School\u2019s Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robin Gauld, and after consultation with the Head of the Department of Accountancy and Finance. \u202f<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first scholarship will be for the top student in the Financial Statement Analysis (ACCT 310) class and the second prize will be awarded to a third-year student who has undertaken extra community service alongside their academic excellence in accounting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The value of the prizes will normally be $1,000 and, separate to the monetary award, KPMG will fast track an interview or assessment day for each prize recipient.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"btn btn-primary\" href=\"https:\/\/www.otago.ac.nz\/otagobulletin\/news\/otago0231270.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read more<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KPMG k\u014drero and new scholarships announced at Otago Business School A recruitment event held at the Otago Business School recently was also an opportunity to announce two new scholarships for finance and accounting students.
