President’s Welcome

Kia ora and welcome to 2018!

This is a big year for the New Zealand Chapter. For the first time since 2006, New Zealand is playing host to the Educate Plus International Conference. This is a great opportunity for more of you than might otherwise be the case to attend this great gathering of colleagues and expert presenters from around Australasia. It’s also an excellent opportunity for all of us to show our warm hospitality to colleagues from across the Tasman.

Professional development, networking with peers and sharing information are the hallmarks of Educate Plus that make it the vital and rewarding professional association it is.

This conference would not be happening without the energy and enthusiasm of volunteers and a superb management team, based in Australia. We are a great deal to them. In particular I would like to highlight Carolyn Prebble, Chris Klaasen, Debbie Cook, Ellie Gray, Rosemary Harris and Sarah Powrie who have been the all-important New Zealand members of the Conference Planning Committee, together with my predecessor as chapter president, Janice Lapwood.

I additionally play tribute to the entire NZ Chapter Committee who will be driving all other aspects of the support and service we want to offer you. Most importantly of all these committee members are your first point of contact for any suggestions and ideas on how to make Educate Plus work for you our members.
