President’s Message

President’s Message

Dear NZ members,

It’s hard to believe that we have just past the shortest day of the year – this means our NZ Chapter Conference at Samuel Marsden School in Wellington is only 2 months away. Our committee is working to provide the highest delivery of workshops and masterclasses, as well as creating opportunities to exchange ideas and experiences at conference: Real, Relevant, Realistic.

We are privileged to have Professor Brad Jackson facilitate a Leadership Breakfast at conference, addressing management issues put forward by attendees. Brad is a Professor of Public and Community Leadership at Victoria University of Wellington, and has spoken to practitioner and academic audiences throughout the world. He has published a number of books including The Hero Manager, and Organisational Behaviour in New Zealand, and is the former Vice-Chair of the International Leadership Association. I encourage you to share this opportunity with your Heads, Board members, Senior Educational leaders and fellow Advancement colleagues.

Few conferences would succeed without the support from sponsors – they are truly worth their weight in gold; both in terms of financial support and for forming valuable relationships. I wish to acknowledge the generous support from:

Thank you all for partnering with us.

Our EducatePlus strategic planning process is taking shape with Board members identifying priorities for chapters to focus resources and operations on; ensuring that we continually adapt to an everchanging landscape within our sector. I look forward to sharing these outcomes with you in the second half of this year. With the recent recruitment of an Education & Training Manager in our Head Office, we are well on the way to implementing some of the activities that our strategic planning process has already identified – watch this space for more exciting things to come your way.

During the year, there will be a number of opportunities to network with colleagues from other schools and tertiary institutions around New Zealand. These will be posted on our NZ Chapter webpage  as well as notifications sent out to you via email.

A number of new members have joined our NZ Chapter over the past few months – the increase is fantastic, and if you need any assistance, please make contact with any of our NZ Chapter Committee members who are more than willing to help.

Finally, in order to be successful in what we do, we need to be passionate for excellence and share our knowledge and skill sets – this is the way forward for modern advancement.
