On Wednesday 20 August, along with 40 other students, I was given a chance to get involved in Vinnies sandwich-making at school this term, where social responsibility, community and hands-on support for the vulnerable came to fruition. Gathered together, it was a physical experience to put our Catholic Social Teachings of compassion and solidarity into action, where every sandwich was packaged with love and service. In a fast-paced kitchen filled with positive energy and teamwork, the real purpose lay in small, kind gestures that will have a significant impact on people who are marginalised in society. It is such a blessing to work alongside our dedicated teachers and peers to deliver sandwiches made with love and quality, in order to serve our community and bring hope, happiness and comfort to those experiencing hardship in their lives. <\/span>~ Lara, Year 11<\/b><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
