On Wednesday, we had the enriching opportunity to attend the STEMC Careers Expo for Years 9-12 at Rosehill Racecourse. There were many stalls promoting different careers in STEM around Sydney and providing information on pathways to get there after school. We engaged in various activities to do with STEM such as building robots, watching drones and learning how our transport system is programmed. This strengthened our understanding of how our city works and what jobs are involved. Jonathan Zhu in the Sydney Trains department gave us extensive insight into how Sydney Trains calculates the probability of safety and how the transport system values the safety of citizens among NSW. We felt greatly inspired and this opportunity allowed us to broaden our perspectives on careers we may have never considered before. There were many different specialist areas such as business, coding, engineering and construction that we could explore. Overall, we found it highly insightful and worthwhile attending during this period of subject selection for Year 10. (Charlotte and Aoife)<\/p>\n
