This term, Year 8 students are exploring the theme of personal self-expression through poetry, and to launch the unit, they were treated to a dynamic\u00a0Poetry in Action<\/em>\u00a0performance titled\u00a0Muse It or Lose It!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Set on Mount Helicon, the play imagines the Muses facing an existential crisis: once the source of human inspiration, they now find their roles threatened by artificial intelligence. To retain their immortality, they must prove their creative worth to Zeus by inspiring new works of art.<\/p>\n

Through fast-paced comedy, engaging characters and live performance, students wer\"\"<\/a>e immersed in an energetic exploration of music, poetry and creative writing. The show linked classic literature\u00a0– from sonnets to slam poetry – with contemporary expression, highlighting key literary techniques such as metaphor, symbolism and intertextuality.<\/p>\n

This lively performance not only entertained but also inspired students to discover the power and joy of authentic self-expression through language.<\/p>\n
