The Kids\u2019 Lit Quiz is a local, national and international competition to promote reading run in Australia by Kids\u2019 Lit Quiz Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The girls competed against 13 other schools and 28 teams on the day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Quiz questions were based on all kinds of Literature &#8211; classics, nursery rhymes, popular childrens\u2019 literature, fairy tales, &#8216;Harry Potter&#8217;. There were 10 different categories; including \u2018Gardens\u2019, &#8216;Abbreviations\u2019, \u2018Middle Names\u2019 and \u2018Houses\u2019 with 10 quiz questions in each category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our teams placed second (Team 1) and third (Team 2) overall in a deciding face-off against a team from St Andrews\u2019 Cathedral School. We missed out on first place, which would have seen us earning a place at the National Lit Quiz finals, by the narrowest of margins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There was a play-off between our two teams and a team from St Andrew\u2019s Cathedral School in a tie-breaker for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place.
