Dear Parents, Carers, Students and Staff

Celebrating the Class of 2026

Congratulations Class of 2026! We are so proud of you! #FCCallinGraduation is always a highlight of the school calendar, giving us a precious opportunity to celebrate our Year 12 graduates surrounded by those who love them most. This week’s events were a testament to the genuine, supportive partnership between Domremy College and our families. Reaching a milestone like this highlights not only our students’ personal and academic growth, but also the years of encouragement and care provided by the families behind them.

Honouring their legacy and saying farewell: For our teaching and support staff, bidding farewell to Year 12 brings a sense of pride mixed with quiet nostalgia. Watching these students blossom into articulate, compassionate young women over their years at the College has been an immense privilege. The Class of 2026 leaves behind a vibrant legacy: their bold leadership, fresh perspectives and deep generosity have enriched our campus and will continue to inspire future generations of Domremy girls.

With gratitude to our parents and carers: To our Year 12 parents and carers: thank you for your constant support and partnership. From their early steps at Domremy to this final week, your love and reassurance have anchored your daughters through every challenge and victory. It has been an honour to work alongside you to help mould the dynamic young women graduating today.

Guided by light: faith, hope and love: As our graduates look toward the horizon, we remind them to keep their path grounded in our core values: faith, hope and love. These values, inherited through our Presentation tradition, serve as a reliable guide for whatever lies ahead. Just as Nano Nagle stepped into the dark streets with her lantern to serve others, we hope our graduates carry their own light into the world, leading with purpose, empathy and conviction.

A complete journey: Our Graduation Mass was a beautiful reflection of community, echoing the same spirit of togetherness that marked their very first Opening Mass years ago. Our graduates leave us well-prepared, carrying rich memories, strong lifelong values and the inspiring example set by their teachers.

Looking ahead: As our Year 12 cohort turns their focus to their upcoming HSC examinations, the entire Domremy community holds them in prayer. We wish them calm confidence, resilience and clarity of mind, knowing they are thoroughly equipped to do their best.

May all our Domremy families enjoy a peaceful and restorative term break.

I look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4, with school resuming for students on Monday, 12 October.

Blessings on your and your families

Mrs Antoinette McGahan

Principal

Year 12 Blessing

Gracious and caring God, our source of light,
we ask for your almighty hand to be upon these graduates as we send them forward.

With their classes and grading now complete,
may they strive toward excellence in all they do

With the applause quieted,
may they celebrate and lift up those around them.

With the speeches concluded,
may their voices rise up to pronounce peace and justice in the world.

With the fanfare ceasing,
may they find bliss in future endeavors and adventures.

With potential degrees and credentials in hand,
may their achievements grow and enrich their communities.

As educated in the Presentation Charism,
may they discover Holiness in the midst of life’s blessings as well life’s challenges.

As their careers commence,
may they conduct their life’s work with exceptional skill and integrity
inspired to Go Forth and Set the World of Fire
from this day onward.

Class of 2026: Teacher vs Student Debate

Class of 2026: Teacher vs Student Debate

On Wednesday 16 September, our Year 12 debaters went up against their teacher mentors in our Staff vs Student Debate, a beloved tradition in the lead up to Graduation. This year’s topic, “ That students work harder than teachers” generated some interesting discussion from both sides.

Representing the negative team, the teachers attempted to defend themselves against the student team, arguing that their job was harder.

Despite the teacher’s efforts, it was the students who emerged victorious after deliberation from our adjudicators.

The Staff vs Student Debate was a thrilling showcase of immense wit and insight, leaving the audience with a good source of entertainment.

Thank you to everyone involved for making this a great success, and a memory we will deeply cherish!

Niamh Foley, 2026 College Debating and Public Speaking Prefect

Class of 2026: Staff vs Student Dodgeball game

Class of 2026: Staff vs Student Dodgeball game

The Student vs Teacher Dodgeball game was such a fun way to bring the Domremy community together! With Year 12 students taking on our teachers, the game was filled with plenty of laughs and friendly competition. It was so great to see students and teachers getting involved, cheering each other on and enjoying the afternoon together. The energy and support from everyone watching made it such a memorable experience and really highlighted the strong sense of community at Domremy. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day so much fun.

Class of 2026: Graduating School Captains’ Celebratory Dinner at NSW Parliament

Class of 2026: Graduating School Captains’ Celebratory Dinner at NSW Parliament

On Wednesday 16 September, Annaliese, Antonia and Neve, were invited to a celebratory dinner hosted by Ms Stephanie Di Pasqua MP, Member for Drummoyne and Domremy College alumna, at NSW Parliament House.

The evening began with a tour of Parliament House, giving us along with the Captains from other schools, a behind the scenes look at where decisions affecting our community are made. We learned about the history of the building, how parliament works day to day and the role a local member plays in representing their electorate.

Ms Di Pasqua was incredibly warm and welcoming throughout the night. She took the time to speak with each student, asked about their leadership roles and genuinely showed an interest in their goals and ideas. Her encouragement left a lasting impression on everyone.

During the dinner, Ms Di Pasqua shared her own leadership journey and offered valuable advice to the student leaders, speaking about the importance of listening, staying true to your values and leading by example. Students were also given the opportunity to ask her questions, and our captains took full advantage, asking about her path into public life, the challenges of leadership and how young people can make a difference in their communities.

A highlight of the evening was the chance to meet and connect with other school captains from across the Drummoyne electorate. Each captain shared experiences, swapped ideas about leading their school communities and built new friendships with young people who share their commitment to service. We are very grateful to Ms Di Pasqua and her team for such a memorable and inspiring evening.

Class of 2026: Year 12 Gratitude Morning Tea for Staff

Class of 2026: Year 12 Gratitude Morning Tea for Staff

In celebration of the wonderful staff we have at the College, our Year 12 cohort hosted a Gratitude morning tea where the students had the opportunity to express their appreciation for all the efforts the staff across the College have put into our education over the last 6 years. Over 20 girls, representing the entire cohort, shared their own testimonies and memories to attempt to culminate 6 years worth of gratitude into a single speech, with each department and staff member receiving a heartfelt thank you from the Year 12’s.

The event was nothing short of memorable and extremely meaningful for both students and staff alike, representing the incredible impact that each staff member has had on our lives as students and young women at Domremy College. Whilst most certainly an emotional occasion, this event also served to be one of celebration and reflection, meaningfully expressing the constant support and guidance that our cohort received by the staff and is eternally indebted to. In moving forward towards our next chapter of life, we will certainly keep these fond memories and valuable knowledge close to our hearts to guide us beyond our schooling.

Class of 2026: Year 12 Picnic Day

Class of 2026: Year 12 Picnic Day

The Class of 2026 enjoyed a beautiful day out at Parsley Bay for our Year 12 Picnic Day. It was the perfect opportunity to step away from the classroom and spend some quality time together as a year group. We swam in the water, relaxed on the beach, shared food, played games and enjoyed the sunshine with our friends.

With plenty of laughter and fun throughout the day, it was a memorable way to celebrate our final weeks together. As we get closer to graduation, days like these remind us to appreciate the friendships and moments we have shared throughout our time at Domremy.

Class of 2026: Homeroom and Class Farewells

Class of 2026: Homeroom and Class Farewells

Our Year 12 Homeroom Farewells were a special opportunity to celebrate the friendships and memories we have made throughout our time at Domremy. Each homeroom came together one final time to reflect on the years we have shared, with plenty of laughter, stories and a few emotional moments along the way.

From the nervous Year 7 girls we once were to the young women we are today, our homerooms have been a constant part of our high school journey. We have shared early mornings, announcements, celebrations, stressful assessment days and countless everyday moments that have become some of our favourite memories.

Having the opportunity to share a homeroom with all year groups allowed us to make friendships we will always hold on to, It was a beautiful way to say goodbye to the people we have spent so much of our school lives with. While we may be leaving our homerooms behind, the friendships, memories and connections we have made will stay with us long after we leave the gates of Domremy.

Shoutout Joseph 6! 🙂

Class of 2026: Farewell – Whole School Assembly

Class of 2026: Farewell – Whole School Assembly

On Tuesday 22 September, we, the Class of 2026, gathered with the school community for our farewell assembly. It was a morning full of laughter, a few tears and a lot of gratitude. The assembly kicked off with a very special performance from our teachers. Their performance had us all cheering, and it was such a fun reminder of the care and personality they have brought to our school lives every single day. We will definitely be talking about it for years to come. We were then surprised with a beautiful farewell video made by the Class of 2027. Seeing their messages meant so much to us, and it showed just how close our year groups have become. Thank you, Year 11, for putting so much thought into it. We know we are leaving the school in great hands. To finish, Annaliese, Neve and I had the honour of sharing a farewell message with the community. We reflected on our years at Domremy and thanked the teachers, staff, families and friends who have supported us every step of the way. As we head into our final exams and whatever comes next, we will carry these memories with us. Thank you to everyone who made our farewell so special. We are proud to call ourselves Domremy students, today and always.

Class of 2026: Graduation Mass and evening Graduation Ceremony

On the 23 September the Class of 2026 gathered together for our Year 12 Graduation Mass and Ceremony, marking the end of our time at Domremy College.

The evening was a beautiful opportunity to reflect on the six years we have shared as a year group and to give thanks for the people who have supported us throughout our journey. Beginning with Mass, we were reminded of the importance of our faith and the role it has played in guiding us through both the challenges and celebrations of our time at Domremy.

Our Graduation Ceremony was filled with heartfelt speeches, special memories and plenty of laughter as we looked back on everything we have experienced together. From our first days as nervous Year 7 students to the young women we have become, it was incredibly special to celebrate how far we have come.

As we leave Domremy, we take with us the friendships, memories, lessons and faith that have shaped us. Our time here may be coming to an end, but the light of the Marigolds, Class of 2026, will continue to shine wherever we go.

We are incredibly grateful to our teachers, families and the wider Domremy community for walking alongside us throughout these years. What a privilege it has been to call Domremy home.

Year 10 Commerce Start Up Lab Shark Tank Showcase

Year 10 Commerce Start Up Lab Shark Tank Showcase

On Tuesday, 15 September 2026, the Domremy Theatre was filled with energy as our Year 10 Commerce students took the stage for the highly anticipated Start Up Lab Shark Tank event. Our top ten budding entrepreneurs pitched high-impact solutions to real-world problems, backing their business ideas with professional presentation decks and targeted customer personas. The level of innovation, persuasive speaking, and strategic thinking on display was truly exceptional.

Special recognition goes to our prize winners for their outstanding achievements:

  • 1st Place: Penelope
  • 2nd Place: Sienna
  • 3rd Place: Charlotte
  • People’s Choice Award:  Natalie

An event of this scale would not be possible without the incredible support of our school community. We extend our deepest gratitude to our ‘industry sharks’ for volunteering their time and providing real-time, expert feedback to our students:

  • Jacqui Attard – Managing Director, Institute of Business Coaching
  • Shahe Momdjian – Director, Young Wisdom
  • Katerina Khalil – Scrum Master, Bank of QLD
  • Heather Cox – Delivery Director, Affinity Advertising Agency

Thank you also to the dedicated Commerce teaching staff for guiding, mentoring, and encouraging the students throughout the entire Start Up Lab process. Finally, a big thank you to all the parents and family members who supported the students behind the scenes and attended to cheer on our future founders.

“I found this task to be engaging and provided me with opportunities to express my creativity and apply my Commerce skills. The industry sharks asked us nuanced questions, causing us to think deeply about our business idea and challenged us to respond with cohesive answers that allowed us to apply the knowledge learnt during this task to a real world scenario. Overall, this was a highly valuable experience that combined knowledge and creativity in a practical sense.”

Charlotte – Year 10 Commerce student

“Through this Shark Tank pitch, I learned how to transform a real-world problem into an achievable startup strategy. Responding to  live, unexpected questions forced me to think fast and speak with real confidence under pressure. Also, mapping out the business idea from scratch taught me that launching a startup is a multistage journey requiring deep market research, continuous refining, and careful roadmapping to turn a concept into a viable business.”

Natalie – Year 10 Commerce student

“Participating in the Shark Tank event helped me develop a valuable understanding of innovation and the process of creating and presenting a business idea. Throughout this experience, I learnt the importance of market research, customer feedback, and creating a solution that addresses a real world problem. The industry sharks delivered crucial feedback and questions to strengthen our idea and refine our pitch. Macquarie Uni further supported us by providing resources and opportunities essential to develop skills in entrepreneurship.”

Olivia – Year 10 Commerce student

“The students knew their customer, stuck to their brief and handled the panel’s questions with confidence. These are the skills that build businesses, and these students already have them. Congratulations!”

Year 10 PASS excursion to Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium, Moore Park

Year 10 PASS excursion to Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium, Moore Park

“This month, we took part in the Amazing Race at the Sydney Cricket Ground. It consisted of a variety of sport skill games and challenges where we had to work together to complete them. Moving through the stadium and seeing the huge field up close helped me appreciate how much history and atmosphere the SCG holds. At Allianz Stadium, we were able to walk through the players’ locker rooms, and this gave us a real behind‑the‑scenes look at where athletes prepare before major games. As a result, the excursion didn’t just show us two stadiums, it let us experience what it feels like to be inside places that are normally only seen by professional players.“

Sydney Catholic Schools Goalball Gala Day – a celebration of community and inclusion

The Sports Hall at Sydney Olympic Park was buzzing on Friday, 18 September 2026, as students gathered for the Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) Goalball Gala Day.

The highlight of the event was bringing together students of mixed abilities, including those supported under the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). Playing side-by-side using blackout eye shades and a bell-embedded ball, the game levelled the playing field for everyone—fostering genuine inclusion, brilliant teamwork and thrilling diving saves. Every participant showed outstanding enthusiasm and sportsmanship and all should be immensely proud of their efforts.

A huge thank you to Sydney Catholic Schools, teachers and volunteers who made the day such a resounding success. The Gala Day was a powerful celebration of community, inclusion and equal access to sports for every student.

Teachers that attended the Gala Day were Lucy Bragg, Lisa Pereira and myself.
