Write a Book In a Day
This week ten girls from Year 10 wrote a book to raise money for the Kids’ Cancer Project. Funds raised go towards scientific research aimed at curing childhood cancers.
Their digital book will be read by sick children in hospital.
On the day of writing their book, the students were given certain parameters, such as an issue, two human characters, one non-human character and words that must appear in their story. The parameters our girls were given for their book included, a fitness instructor, a ship captain, set in a garden and growing up as an issue. Their book needed to be between 3,500 and 5,00 words long.
The minimum amount of money which was expected to be raised for a Team in this project was $240, however, these girls raised a staggering $1,800.00 already!
What a super effort from our students!!
Thank you to the girls who took part in this initiative: Alyssa, Elodie, Jessica, Sophia, Lucinda, Loren, Ayla, Mimi, Sophia and Mariella.
I cannot express my gratitude enough to these girls and their enthusiasm and motivation to contribute to this cause.
