TEXStyle HSC Exhibition

TEXStyle HSC Exhibition

On 14 March, the Year 12 Textiles class had the amazing opportunity to attend the TEXStyle HSC Exhibition at the Embroiderer’s Guild of NSW, Concord West.

The TEXStyle HSC Exhibition is an annual event, designed to showcase excellence and promote Textiles and Design by showcasing exemplary work samples. The exhibition itself showcases Major Textiles Projects and portfolios from students who studied Textiles and Design for the Higher School Certificate in 2023.

The students had the opportunity to view the TEXStyle HSC Exhibition at their own pace while answering questions and studying the projects on display. Some of their favourite Major Textiles Projects included a textile art garment inspired by the environmental impact of coral bleaching, an apparel outfit inspired by the Portugal church – Santuario di Santa Lucia in Viana do Castelo and a dress that beautifully reveals butterfly wings that can be innovatively hidden through snap fastenings.

Overall, the experience was invaluable in ensuring the student’s future success and encouraging them along their HSC journey within Textiles and Technology.
